Do you do regular back-ups on your PC?   That's good if you do!   Do you know where that information  is stored?  It's on your hard drive, hopefully in a separate partition.  Now, do you know what is backed up?  Data!  Data in your documents and a few special files, but NOT the programs.  If your system crashes, you must reload the operating system and all your programs.  Do you still have your operating system disk and all the disks for your programs?  Did you download any programs that are now lost? What about ALL those updates? They will have to be reloaded too!

That can be done, but it could take days. And now for the big question:                                             WHAT IF THE HARD DRIVE FAILS?

They do fail, and they take ALL YOUR DATA with them.
